Esta Terça-feira há duelo europeu na Luz. Pelas 21 horas, recebemos o Bakken Bears em Basquetebol, para a 3ª Jornada do Grupo I da FIBA Europe Cup. A BENFICA TV assegura a cobertura televisiva do evento.
Árdua tarefa pela frente para o conjunto às ordens de Carlos Lisboa. Defronta a armada dinamarquesa que lidera o grupo e que praticamente só sabe vencer na presente época. Na temporada de 2017/2018 perdemos taxativamente nas duas ocasiões em que os defrontamos para a 1ª Fase desta prova europeia.
É uma equipa cotada como favorita e que vem à Luz logicamente com o intuito de somar mais uma vitória e de deixar muito bem encaminhada a qualificação para os Quartos de Final. Possui vários jogadores estrangeiros e não falta qualidade no seio do plantel. Optamos por realçar três atletas, pelo significativo contributo que têm dado à equipa na campanha europeia, são eles: o poste senegalês Michel Diouf, o extremo Darko Jukic (que tem dupla nacionalidade - eslovena e dinamarquesa) e o extremo-poste norte-americano Ryan Evans. Claro está que o Benfica tem de ter especial atenção às movimentações destes jogadores, sem descurar obviamente os restantes elementos que compõem a equipa. É uma equipa que impõe respeito do ponto de vista físico, com várias unidades de elevada estatura.
O Benfica perdeu de forma copiosa na Alemanha e está obrigado a vencer para acalentar esperanças de manter viva a chama do apuramento. A tarefa em mãos é claramente difícil. Oxalá o factor casa possa servir para uma noite endiabrada dos rapazes da Luz, em todos os capítulos, com muita entreajuda e agressividade no processo defensivo e nos duelos individuais, e lucidez (evitando ao máximo cometer 'turnovers') e eficácia no plano ofensivo, em contraste com uma exibição desinspirada dos forasteiros.
